The Reformer was one of the original pieces of apparatus designed by Joseph Pilates over 100 years ago. The contemporary Reformers of today are versatile in that the set up of the machine can be adjusted to suit the body proportions, abilities and objectives of the client. It uses spring resistance which can again be altered to either further challenge the client or provide extra support where needed. A workout on the Reformer will provide everything Pilates is well known for such as balance, flexibility, strength, coordination, and is a low impact workout. At the Studio we selected these particular Reformers as they are a good height from the floor, thus accommodating those who cannot comfortably get down to the floor and up again. We also offer ‘Gentle Reformer’ for those who like to take it a bit easier, so doing Pilates on the Reformer really is so versatile in that it will range from rehabilitation clients to superfit clients.

My Pilates Fix have moved to new Pilates Studios and have a Therapy/Treatment room for hire, either on an hourly, half day rate, full day rate, or monthly basis. We are ideally looking for Therapists who align with our Studio goals and values for both physical and mental health. Would suit a Reflexologist, Aromatherapy, Talking Therapies, Hypnotherapy, Homeopathy, Cancer therapies. We are however open to other ideas and enquiries.

· Room approx 320x220cm
· Directly opposite Upminster station
· Newly refurbished rooms and building
· Treatment couch
· Chairs and coffee table for talking therapies
· Gentle lighting
· Music speaker
· Built-in hand wash basin
· Waiting area
· Wheelchair access sized washroom and ramp available for access
· Very small staff kitchen
· Lovely environment with friendly staff
· Good footfall of existing Pilates & Sports Massage clients
· Referral stream/advertising on our website/in waiting room
· Ad hoc availability checkable/bookable via online system
· All utility bills included in prices
· Small storage space to keep your equipment
· 2 x pillows (but not covers) and 1 bolster provided
· Clean towels can be provided at an extra cost

This can be helpful with Lymphoedema, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia and many other conditions.

The Open Day was so much fun! It was especially rewarding to speak to those suffering from ailments such as knee replacements, or back pain, and reassure them that they are welcome and are easily accommodated. It was also rewarding to show people our Reformers and Towers, and to show them that they are not big scary torture machines, but actually can be very supportive of the body and can help them to rehabilitate from injury.

Safety first! We listened to our members and put double hand rails up the stairs, and 'nosing' on the carpet which clearly indicates every step with a white edge for safety. The matwork Studio upstairs is stunning, it's worth the climb!
